The flag of the UK Territory of Cayman Islands consists of the island territories coat of arms on a blue field with a Union Jack in the canton. The Cayman Islands coat of arms consists of a shield, containing three green stars on wavy blue and white bands and a golden lion on red. The three green stars represent the three inhabited islands of the territory, the wavy blue and white bands represent the ocean, and the golden lion represents Britain. Above the shield there is a turtle and a pineapple, and below the shield is a banner that says “He hath founded it upon the seas”, which is a line from the Bible. This flag was adopted on May 14th, 1958.
