The flag of the Russian Oblast of Kirov consists of three horizontal bands of white, green, and blue. The white band takes up 3/4th of the height of the flag with the Coat of Arms of the oblast in its center. White represents purity and snow, green represents hope and forests, and blue represents fidelity and the Vyatka river, a prominent river that flows through the region. The Coat of Arms of Kirov consists of a bow and arrow being held by a hand coming out of a cloud on a gold field. This flag was adopted on June 26th, 2003.
