The flag of the island country of Nauru consists of a golden stripe on a bield field with a 12-pointed white star towards the bottom left corner. The position of the white star to the golden stripe represents the island’s position below the Equator. The 12 points of the star represent the twelve tribes of the island. This flag was adopted on January 31st, 1968.
