The flag of the Ukrainian Oblast of Ternopil consists of three gold and white towers with open gates above a gold sword crossed with a gold key on a blue background. The three towers represent three historical regions which the oblast was built around. The sword and the key represents the strategic location of the Oblast in the Ukraine. This design was adopted on November 29th, 2003.
