The flag of the Ukrainian oblast of Poltava consists of a yellow Cossacks cross on a blue background. While this flag was officially adopted on February 10th, 2000, it is the same flag as the Poltava Regiment from 1648 to 1775, one of the ten subdivisions of the Cossack Hetmenate. The colors blue and yellow represent traditional colors Ukraine and the Cossacks cross is traditional symbol of the region.
