The Swedish flag consists of yellow Nordic Cross on a blue field. Nordic Crosses are common flag designs which consists of a cross with the crossbar closer to the left side than the right. The colors are believed to be based on the Swedish coat of arms from 1442, and the flag design is based on the flag of Denmark. The yellow cross represents generosity, while the blue represents loyalty, truth, and justice. This flag was adopted on June 22nd, 1906.
